Project Overview
Ferries are an important link between countries for pedestrians and cargo alike. Maintaining a safe environment on board is essential to operational success which is difficult to do at the best of times. The risk is compounded from the additional strain exerted from the Covid-19 Pandemic and the difficulty of implementing effective social distancing measures in cramped areas of the ship.
CalMac needed to ensure continuity of operations at all major ports and through their entire fleet. They wanted to provide the best possible care for their staff and customers in all national fields. The Sanondaf team worked closely with CalMac to ensure the decontamination of all vessels, maintenance and logistical areas was carried out regularly, allowing operations to continue nationally.
Sanondaf FM's Response
Sanondaf began a consultative process to design a bespoke disinfection plan that worked best for CalMac. The plan included scheduled disinfection of all vital locations based on operating timetables and the critical nature of works. We also provided an emergency call out scheme that ensured Sanondaf Teams were rapidly deployed to carry out disinfections of any areas affected by staff or customers with symptoms of infection. The flexibility of the Sanondaf Team enabled minimal to no disruption to end users.
Sanondaf’s technology utilises patented SanoChem, a Hydrogen Peroxide + Silver Ion solution, to provide NHS level disinfection. Delivered through our Fogging and Electrostatic Spraying techniques with a dwell time of 90 and 30 minutes, respectively, we were able to provide a time and cost-effective solution to disinfect the entire CalMac fleet. Combine that with the team’s total flexibility in working hours we were able to provide our disinfection treatments with minimal to no disruption to workflow.
